Connected Systems has just completed enhancements to the new Wesfarmers Corporate Intranet and developed their business unit extranet.
This project delivered two portals
- The Corporate Intranet – this is used by Wesfarmers Corporate internally
- The Business Unit Extranet – this is used by Wesfarmers Corporate to disseminate group-wide information to the business units - anonymously.
A major challenge in the project was to deliver a publishing process that supported publishing information to the intranet that would seamlessly migrate to the extranet (where content is appropriate selected for the extranet), without manual intervention.
This was achieved using custom workflows.
And lastly, a corporate personnel of contact directory was required. Connected Systems delivered a People Search facility on the extranet that was able to surface contacts from multiple divisions (for example, Coles Group).
